Till used GRODAN into your soil

Consider tilling your old stone wool into your outside garden. It will improve the tilth of your soil - helping sandy soil retain moisture and breaking up clay soil. Follow the step-by-step pictures of stone wool being incorporated into a raised bed garden for flowers.

  1. Select an area for your garden bed. Consider placing old Gro-Slabs around the perimeter of the bed. Break up your soil with a shovel and/or rototiller. Add soil or compost to fill the raised bed. Add 25-50% old stone wool to the top 1.5 feet of the raised bed for optimum benefits.
  2. Till the stone wool into the top of the plant bed with a rototiller. You may need to go over the bed 2-3 times to fully break up the stone wool and incorporate it into the soil. Add fertilizer as you till.

  1. Select your seasonal plants for the raised bed, or plant seeds. Transplant into your raised bed and water really well.
  2. Layer the top with mulch to help retain moisture longer. Always water well with newly transplanted plants to encourage a healthy rooting in. Fertilize as needed throughout the season.
