Propagation: Seed or root cuttings in AO 25/40 10/10 or AO 36/40 10/10 (or MM 40/40)
Use medium strength rooting hormone. Rooting usually takes 1-2 weeks. Temperature: 75 - 85°F. Humidity: 75 - 80%. Germination time: 7-15 days.

Root /grow: Approximate: Summer: 3-4 weeks. Winter: 5-6 weeks.

Transplanting: To slab or NFT when seedlings are 1inch. (2-3 true leaves)
PLANT SPACING: 1-2” between each plant center on the slab (or NFT).

Special nutrient requirements: None, however watch for phosphorus.

Growing time to harvest: (after transplanting)
Summer: 4 weeks. Winter: 6 weeks.
Number of harvests: Multiple

Yield: Summer: 2-3 lbs per 5 ft. NFT trough. Winter: 1 lbs. per 10 ft. NFT trough.

Light: Full sun. Oregano grows slowly and becomes extremely susceptible to fungus at less than 11 hours sun light.
SUPPLEMENTAL LIGHTING: 700 foot candles, 14 hours per day minimum during short days.

Sensitive to: Fungal infections: extremely sensitive to many infections.
Insects: Whitefly, leafminer, mites

Notes: Oregano is like Marjoram in its sensitivity to disease. Try to control humidity and do not let leaves get over crowded. Supplemental light is required to grow oregano where days are shorter that 10.5-11 hours. Do not harvest more than half the leaf area at any one time.
